Enabling every child to be the best version of themselves
Dickens Heath Community Primary School complies with the Code of Practice (2014), in which the Department for Education outlines the responsibilities of the Local Education Authority and the school for children with special educational needs.
We are an inclusive school, striving to help children to make good progress in their spiritual, moral, emotional and academic development. In order to do this, we firmly believe in developing strong relationships with all stakeholders and that in turn this will enable children and young people with SEND to achieve their potential. The school recognises that parents/carers have a unique view of their child's needs and working together ensures that key information is shared and the child is at the centre of all partnership.
At DHCPS, we have a range of staff who support children and families with SEND needs.
Some of the staff include:
Mrs Miller - Inclusion Leader
Mrs Carabine - SENDCo
Mrs Bagchi - Advanced Teaching Assistant - Dyslexia Specialist with cognition and learning
Mrs Osborne - Advanced Teaching Assistant - Early literacy and language
Mrs Wild - Advanced Teaching Assistant - Family liaison and well-being support
Mrs Perks - Advanced Teaching Assistant - Early years lead for SEND
