Dickens Heath Community Primary School

Enabling every child to be the best version of themselves

How do we gather the views of the child?

Children are actively involved in their learning on a daily basis, through check in’s and feedback opportunities. In class they are actively involved and encouraged to share their voice when:

  • marking their own and their classmates’ work
  • discussing their learning in pairs and small groups.
  • target setting their own goals and next steps of development, both their academic and personal development.

Children with SEND have the opportunity to share their thoughts about what they want other people to know about them, including what they enjoy and what they find difficult, and ways they would like to be supported, as part of their termly reviews with a key worker.

Children’s views about school life are actively sought on a regular basis this includes opportunities for children to be part of discussion groups such as School Council.
