Enabling every child to be the best version of themselves

Admissions

Places in the ARP are allocated by the local authority at a termly panel, with representatives from the statutory assessment and review team (START), Dickens Heath School, Solihull Inclusion Support Service (SISS) ASD team and Educational Psychology. Dates for panel for 2020-2021:

There are clear criteria for placement of a pupil in our ARP, which can be found on the Solihull local offer website:

Applications are made by the child's current SENCO including copies of the child's EHCP, evidence of ASD diagnosis, attendance and assessment data, alongside evidence of a TAC (Team Around the Child) meeting including significant input from the SISS ASD teacher and or an Educational Psychologist in order to identify an ARP as the recommended provision to meet a pupil’s complex needs.

At the Panel, a decision is taken as to whether an ARP is the appropriate setting for each individual applicant and whether there is a space at the requested ARP. The results of the panel are communicated to parents by the START team.  Following successful application, the teacher in charge of the ARP will contact parents to start the transition process.
